Fact or Myth: Metatags are significant

question markFact. Although you should remember that not all metadata, e.g. content-language metatag, influence searching. A revisit-after tag is an interesting metatag which instructs Internet search engines how often they should analyse the content of a given website. The problem with this metatag lies in the fact that it is not noticed by any search engine. In the context of optimization for Internet search engines only three metatags are significant, and only two of them have actual influence on the position of website. Robots metatag is used only in the code of the website which is to be indexed by network robots. Keywords metatag includes the most important keywords and key expressions, which are used by search engines to locate a given website. Description metatag is definitely the most significant because the text included in this metatag is displayed in the search results.
